Armagh Old Boys Silver Band are excited to announce the return of the Armagh Brass Band and Percussion Summer School with tutors from Foden's after a two-year break due to Covid 19.
Earlier this year Foden's were successful in an application to the 'Heritage Lottery' to fund a number of 'Heritage Projects.' One of the projects was for young people to work towards an 'explore arts award' (which is a Nationally recognised award) using Foden's as inspiration.
On the 18th January a number of the bands Principal players held sectional rehearsals with members of Brass Band Leieland from Belgium. Mark Wilkinson, Richard Poole, Jonny Bates, John Barber, Gary Curtin, Anthony Mann and Andrew Cattanach spent an enjoyable evening working on Dynasty by Peter Graham.
Following the recent announcement about our successful application to Arts Council England for a three-year programme of events, the first funded session, a free 'Winter' training day was held on the 19th December. All 50 places were taken within 48 hours and included members from Hong Kong and Canada.

Since last October Foden’s have been collaborating with Age UK Cheshire and arts organisation the Power of Art in a project that helps the over 50’s of the Northwich area of Cheshire overcome social isolation and loneliness by making brass music together.
On Saturday 14th March a large number of players with mixed ability and ages representing ten bands from North Wales and Cheshire travelled to Abergele Community Centre.
