Foden's band are extremely proud that one of their members has been awarded the 'Mortimer Medal' for recognition of their services to the teaching of young brass musicians.
From the first Whit Friday Marches in 1884, the event has grown in popularity. This year over 100 brass bands participated in twenty two different contests at venues scattered around the areas of Tameside and Saddleworth.
