Trials and Triumphs

Foden's are pleased to announce the release of their latest cd 'Trials and Triumphs'

The cd features a number of the bands soloists as well as their programme 'Kings and Queens' premiered at the 'Brass in Concert Championships' in 2018.

In 2016 Foden’s were successful with an application to Arts Council England through ‘Grants for the Arts’ for a “Three Year Strategic Music and Audience Development Plan 2016-2019”. Included in the funding application was a commission from Derek Bourgeois to celebrate the famous double hat-trick of wins achieved by Foden’s at the National Championship of Great Britain 1932, 33 & 34 and again in 1936, 37 & 38. This piece proved to be the last major work for brass band that Bourgeois wrote before he passed away in September 2017.

In October 2018 Foden's were crowned the 'National Champions of Great Britain' at the Royal Albert Hall after performing Kenneth Downies 'Handel in the Band'. The winning live performance is included on this cd courtesy of World of Brass.

Thanks to World of Brass for producing a short promo video to accompany the release
