With consecutive cancellations in 2020 and 2021 of both the Saddleworth and Tameside Whit Friday competitions, it has now been revealed a number of the popular venues on both circuits may struggle to see a viable financial option to host and support their annual competitions from next year onwards.
On the 18th January a number of the bands Principal players held sectional rehearsals with members of Brass Band Leieland from Belgium. Mark Wilkinson, Richard Poole, Jonny Bates, John Barber, Gary Curtin, Anthony Mann and Andrew Cattanach spent an enjoyable evening working on Dynasty by Peter Graham.
It is with great sadness that we hear about the passing of James Scott on the morning of the 24th January. Mr Scott was the bands Musical Director between 1975 - 1978 and later accepted our offer to become a Life Patron of the band.
In our recent organisational changes at Foden’s we’ve successfully recruited several trustees, one of which is Mrs. Alison Graham who in addition to being a trustee has also come on board as a Vice President. Alison, brings a wealth of experience which we are excited about and warmly welcome her...
Sadly, this years RNCM 'Brass Band Festival' has had to be cancelled due to Covid. However, we are extremely pleased that a number of our past performances at the Festival will be showcased online .

Following the recent announcement about our successful application to Arts Council England for a three-year programme of events, the first funded session, a free 'Winter' training day was held on the 19th December. All 50 places were taken within 48 hours and included members from Hong Kong and Canada.
