Grace Jeffers

Solo Horn

Grace first picked up the tenor horn at the age of four and quickly developed a passion for brass banding that has remained with her ever since. She spent 13 years with the Pemberton Brass Band Organisation, holding the Solo Horn position across all three bands and developing her musicianship through a wide range of performances and contests. During her time with the Youth Band, Grace was awarded several solo prizes, and her achievements were further recognised when she won Wigan’s Young Musician of the Year on two occasions.

A highlight of her time with Pemberton was winning the First Section Regional Championships and National Finals with the A Band. Following promotion to the Championship Section, the band qualified for the National Brass Band Championships at the Royal Albert Hall, providing Grace with a memorable final contest before moving on to the next stage of her banding career.

Alongside her time with Pemberton, Grace was selected as Principal Tenor Horn of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, performing alongside some of the country’s finest young brass players and further developing her musical experience.

Grace joined Foden’s Band in October 2019 on the 1st Horn chair before taking up the Solo Horn position in March 2026. Since joining Foden’s, she has enjoyed considerable contest success, including two National Championship titles, a Brass in Concert victory and winning the prestigious British Open Brass Band Championships. She has also represented the band at the European Brass Band Championships on two occasions. Her musical experiences have taken her overseas, where she has performed as a Solo Horn player at the New Zealand Brass Band National Championships.

Alongside her performing career, Grace is proud to be a K&G Mouthpieces artist. Away from brass banding, she works as a counsellor and psychotherapist, supporting both adults and young people, and is passionate about helping others achieve their potential both on and off the stage.
